Welcome!
About me:
Tetta Askeland is a up and coming young female theatre artist from Southwest Iowa. Askeland fell into theatre from a young age when her mother took her to see Cinderella and was enchanted by the production. She remembers being in awe by the large sets, acrobatics, and the connection she felt to the story as an audience member. As Tetta grew up she loved reading would always be imagining the places she would read about. Her favorite place to image was, and still is, Hogwarts. Through reading she was able to discover the magic of storytelling and realized the importance it had on her life. Askeland Attended Northwestern College, with two brief study abroad year at Dordt College. Askeland studied Communications, Political Science, and Theatre. She is thankful for the importance of storytelling that she learned from all of her mentors at Northwestern and Dordt. Most importantly she is thankful for the family she made there. During the past three summers Tetta has spent time working at The Clinton Area Showboat Theatre as a Props Master, Carpenter, Scenic Painter, and Designer. Upon graduating from Northwestern Askeland started graduate school at Kent State University in Kent, OH. She is currently a 3rd year MFA candidate in Scenic Design. During her time at Kent she has taught many classes, mentored undergraduates, served on academic committees, designed shows, and made life long friends. In her free time Tetta likes to read, play board games, bake, go kayaking, and most importantly hang out with her dog, Edison.
